Day 26

Tyler is still doing good. He was a bit emotional yesterday when Holly and I went to visit him. I think there are a couple of reasons for it. He was probably excited to see us, like he is when he sees any of us. Another reason is he has been falling out of his bed a lot lately and the other day he fell out of his bed and landed on his head. So, now he has two black eyes and it looks like a goose egg on the front of his head. The problem is, he really thinks he can just get up and walk and doesn't understand quite yet that his body won't let him. His mind is working faster than his body is. He knows he can walk and stand up by himself but he just can't. I am sure he is pretty frustrated knowing that he can do it but his body won't let him. He is pretty much trapped right now and that is hard for him. He also has sores all over his hand from trying to wheel himself around. So, thankfully one of the physical therapists there, got him some work out gloves so that he doesn't hurt his hands again. The other day Tehra caught Tyler trying to stand up by himself. We know that is why he keeps falling out of his bed because he is experimenting on what he can do. Which, in a way, is a good thing. But, at the same time, it's not good because he will hurt himself. It's hard to see him this way and I really can't imagine having no control of my body. I know this doesn't even compare, but I had a dream the other night that I overdosed on drugs (Which is pretty funny that that would happen to me) but in my dream, I knew I could do things but I had no control of my body and it was thee hardest thing. So, I can imagine how hard it must be for him. All in all though, Tyler really is improving each day. In physical therapy yesterday they had him standing up but he was in between this like portable station type thing. So, he was in the middle of this thing standing up and he did so well keeping himself straight up. They had him doing the exercise step bike and he did so well on that. His resistance level was at an 8 and the highest is a 10. So, he was really working hard and wouldn't quit. That is it for now. I will keep you updated when I have more updates.

Tyler Brent Gearhart (Bodie) Tyler Brent Gearhart, age 23, was called home Thursday, April 30, 2009 in Ogden, Utah. He was born February 17, 1986 to R. Michael and Lou Ann Turville Gearhart in Salt Lake City, Utah. He fought a courageous battle with drug addiction. Tyler had a loving personality and was loved by all who knew him. He had a contagious smile and a wonderful laugh. His quick whit and sense of humor captured everyone's love. Tyler loved his family, friends and his two dogs. He especially loved family gatherings. He was a very respectful young man, always saying please and thank you. He was always a very caring person by putting others first. Tyler graduated from Copper Hills High School in 2004. He loved all sports, especially football, basketball and snowboarding. Tyler was a true fan of the Oakland Raiders. Tyler is survived by his parents and three brothers and three sisters. Corey, Holly (Troy) Johnson, Jamie (Gene) Slater, Michael, Shawn and Lisa (Brandon) Robbins. He has nine nieces and nephews and a very special friend Tehra Dunn. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain Shadows 4th Ward Chapel, 8136 Old Bingham Hwy. West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to services from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. and Monday, May 4, 2009 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be at the West Jordan City Cemetery. About Audrey

Audrey was born at 4 pounds 14 ounces. She was just a little one. She might be small but she is a really strong girl. Audrey is a bit stubborn these days. She still likes to do things her way and when it is more convenient for her. She is very independent. We can't force her to do anything because than she won't do it. She is ready when she is ready and that is how it has always been since before she was born. She was born 3 weeks early, but came when she was ready. If she keeps this up, life is going to be hard for us (Brandon and I) when she gets older, it already is and she is only 3. :) We love her so much and would not change her for anything and are so glad she is a part of our family. We can't imagine life without little Miss. She has definitely kept us on our toes!

About Gracey

Oh , our sweet sweet Gracey. I call her Sweet girl because she really is so sweet. She was born a couple of weeks early but gave us a scare at 34 weeks when I started having consistent contractions and was dilated to a 3. Luckily she decided to wait a bit longer. When she decided to come she didn't wait long. I was in labor for 5 hours, almost 3 of which were at home. She made it so easy for me and oddly enough that is what kind of a baby she is. She is easy going and happy and smiles so much!! I love her so much!!!
